The element entries are the Directory’s main part, but the publication documents itself first: what it covers, who maintains it, and how an entry is built. Those sections are transcribed here so the registry carries its own documentation. Section 3 (Indexes) is reserved for future use in the source; the 1504 entries of section 4.2 are the directory itself.

Provenance: transcribed from the source PDFs in untded/references (section 4.1 from the text layer, the front matter from OCR at 300 dpi — line-by-line OCR fidelity is not human-verified). The raw text files remain the authoritative transcription; report any discrepancy as an issue.
